Summary of Transmission Characteristics of Wireless Transmission Module
Time:2023-07-22

Wireless modules are widely used for wireless data transmission in wireless networks, wireless control, and other fields. Its transmission characteristics mainly include the following features:

Low transmission power of wireless modules

Different transmission intervals have different transmission powers, ranging from 10mW to 100mW. The gimbal generally uses 220V civilian AC power supply, which is converted into usable DC power internally. The JZ871 and JZ872 series wireless data transmission modules generally use 3-5V DC voltage and have low power consumption, so they have the characteristics of power saving.

ISM frequency band working frequency of wireless modules without the need to apply for frequency points. Carrier frequency frequency is 429-438MHz

Wireless modules have high anti-interference ability and low bit error rate

Based on GFSK modulation, using efficient communication protocols, when the channel bit error rate is 10-2, an actual bit error rate of 10-5 to 10-6 can be obtained. The transmission protocol of the gimbal is generally very simple, and the data packets are very short. At the same time, the last byte is usually the parity bit, which itself has error correction capability.

The application of wireless modules has good maneuverability based on the intermittent communication and small data packet transmission characteristics of the gimbal.

The transmission interval of wireless modules is far

Open intervals range from 300 meters to 10 kilometers. In the case of internal testing of JZ878, the open interval can reach a transmission interval of 8 to 20 kilometers. It can penetrate at least multiple 12-story reinforced concrete buildings in actual buildings, which can well meet the working environment and requirements of the gimbal.

Wireless modules provide transparent data transmission

Transmission is received as it is. Gimbal controls have their own protocols, and wireless modules do not modify or parse the transmitted data packets. Therefore, communication between the gimbal and the control console does not require any code modifications due to the presence of wireless data transmission modules. As long as the hardware communication is smooth, the software can be executed correctly without any modifications.

Wireless modules have multiple channels and rates

They provide 16 channels, which can be expanded to 32 channels according to user needs, to meet the needs of various communication combinations. The actual number of gimbals used in monitoring systems varies. If there are more than 100 gimbals and the number of controlled gimbals is also relatively high, communication can be performed by grouping the gimbals and using different channels for each group to avoid data packet conflicts and ensure timely communication.

Wireless modules can provide a variety of communication baud rates ranging from 1200bps to 38400bps, and the wireless transmission rate is proportional to the interface baud rate to meet the various baud rate needs of customer devices. The gimbal's baud rate is generally set to 9600, but other baud rates are also used. The wireless module's speed range completely satisfies the gimbal's requirements.

Wireless modules provide three interface modes: RS232/485/TTL

Generally, working gimbals do not need to be reconfigured. In this case, the wireless module needs to adapt to the current situation. The interface mode of the gimbal is generally RS232 or 485, or both are supported. Therefore, the wireless module can adapt well to the interface mode of the gimbal and work without modifying the hardware of the gimbal.

With intelligent data control of wireless modules, users do not need to program extra code

Maximize the reusability of most serial port manipulation codes. For the software of the monitoring system, using wireless transmission is completely the same as the previous wired transmission method. It only requires adding wireless modules on the hardware side, and turning off all wired lines and devices. The operation is also very simple. Basically, just connect the wireless module to the upper and lower computers.

Wireless modules have high reliability, small size, and lightweight

They use high-performance single-chip processor ATMega8L, with few peripheral circuits, high reliability, and low failure rate. The size of the wireless module is similar to a matchbox, and this size will not cause difficulties in remodeling the original system. Some capable gimbal manufacturers can even embed wireless data transmission modules into the gimbal to make the product more competitive.

Wireless modules have watchdog real-time monitoring

In the case of power failure, power surge, external interference, and system debugging, the wireless module will not have any problems. It can work as long as it is powered on, safe, reliable, and stable.
